Darjeeling tea is often called the ‘champagne of tea’ because of its delicate flavour and exclusive quality. Cultivated at the eco-plantation Moteviot in the foreland of Himalaya, Julius Meinl Darjeeling  is a second flush harvested in summer, the main crop season. Thanks to young tea leaves inside, its dry leaves sparkle with colors from light green, golden ochroid, to deep brown, and even black tones. This Darjeeling is a delicate light black tea with pleasant floral aromas, a bright infusion and a nutmeg flavor.

This Darjeeling is a delicate light black tea with pleasant floral aromas, a bright infusion and a nutmeg flavor.

  • Tea-Picking Region: India, the state of West Bengal, Darjeeling region
  • Brewing instructions: 1 gram of tea per 100 ml of water, time of infusion is 3 to 5 minutes at a temperature around 95-100 °C.
  • Top Grading: STGFOP1 Special Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe is a tea leaf grading which means that the tea contains a high percentage of young golden leaves which are named tips. The grading system is employed at tea auctions.
